New patients

Your first visit, explained.

About 75 minutes: an exam, digital X-rays and a cleaning if your gums are ready. You leave with a written plan and costs — nothing starts without your say-so.

The first visit

What happens in those 75 minutes.

  1. The exam

The dentist examines your teeth and gums, asks what you would like from us, and listens to anything that worries you.

  2. Digital X-rays and screening

Low-dose X-rays where they are due, plus an oral cancer screening. Both take a few minutes.

  3. Cleaning and your plan

A cleaning if your gums are ready for one that day, then a written plan with its costs before you leave.

Forms

Nothing to print, no clipboard.

Your forms arrive by text after you book. They take about three minutes on a phone, so most people are in the chair within a few minutes of walking in.

If you would rather do them here, arrive ten minutes early and the front desk will hand you a tablet.

Insurance & payment

Most PPO plans are filed for you, including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian and Anthem. What your plan actually covers is verified by the office before you decide. Payment plans exist for larger treatment; the front desk explains them.

Nervous about the dentist?

Tell us when you book and we will schedule extra time. We offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation, and you are always welcome to bring headphones, a friend, or simply stop and take a break.

Children from age three

Dr. Priya Nadar sees children from age three. First visits are short and light, at the child's pace, with a parent alongside throughout.

What should I bring? +

Your insurance card if you have one, a list of any medicines you take, and any questions. Your forms are already done by text.

Will anything be done on the first visit? +

The exam, X-rays and a cleaning. Any further treatment gets a written plan with its price first, and is booked for another day once you have decided.
