The visit that keeps everything else simple.
A thorough hygiene visit twice a year is where most problems are caught while they are still small — and where you hear, in plain English, what we saw.
What it is
Cleanings & prevention
A hygiene visit at Northline is a full check, not a quick polish. Your hygienist removes the plaque and tartar a toothbrush cannot reach, checks your gums, and looks for early wear, cracks and decay. Digital X-rays are taken when they are due, not by habit.
Every visit ends with a plain-English summary of what we found and what, if anything, we recommend next — written down, so you can think about it at home.
- Professional cleaning and a gum check
- Digital X-rays when they are due
- Oral cancer screening at every exam
- A written summary of what we saw
What to expect
Three steps, no surprises.
Check in
Update anything that has changed since last time. Forms arrive by text after you book, so most people are in the chair within minutes.
The exam and clean
Your hygienist cleans and checks your gums; the dentist reviews the X-rays and examines your teeth.
Your summary
Before you leave, you get a written note of what we saw and any recommendation, with a written price before anything is scheduled.
Common questions
Things people ask.
How often should I come in? +
Twice a year suits most people. If your gums need closer attention the hygienist will suggest a shorter gap and explain why.
Will the cleaning hurt? +
Most people find it comfortable. Tell us about sensitive spots and we take them slowly; numbing gel is always available.
Do I need X-rays every time? +
No. They are taken on a schedule based on your history, and we explain why when they are due.
